The Festival Verdi Journal, the annual magazine dedicated to Festival Verdi 2018, in a double edition in both Italian and English, where original images and illustrations, analytical essays and articles offer curious and passionate followers new knowledge and insight on Verdian operas.

The FV Journal is the magazine to familiarise yourself with the operas by Giuseppe Verdi, produced in a simple and insightful way, full of memorable images and articles written for a broad audience by the highest calibre scholars and specialists.
Edited by Alessandro Roccatagliati and enriched with original illustrations commissioned to Davide Forleo, it is produced in collaboration with the Festival Verdi Scientific Committee, and directed by Francesco Izzo.
I due Foscari, Luisa Miller, Aida, Nabucco – the operas programmed for Festival Verdi 2019 – are at the heart of this second edition with contributions from Andreas Giger, Gerardo Tocchini, Steven Huebner, Marco Beghelli, Roger Parker, Gloria Staffieri, Emanuele Senici, Emanuele D’Angelo, and Alessandro Roccatagliati.
Devoted to each opera are two essays, accompanied by extensive artwork: the first article is broader and introductory, reconstructing the origins of the opera and focusing on the important dramaturgical and musical aspects, whereas the second is dedicated to specific themes, exploring topics such as literary sources, and the cultural context of the opera.
The magazine invites the reader to reflect on the visual aspects and staging through a substantial collection of commented images, including period reproductions and recent stage photos.
